Christiania

The story of Christiania is colourful, long, and filled with battles, victories and defeats. It all began in 1971. Many of the people who began the experiment do not live here anymore, but the dream of a life lived in freedom and the idea of a city ruled by its inhabitants continues. Today 1000 people lives at Christiania in the collectively controlled village, and the area has a clear 70s feel to it.

Christiania Freetown is located at Christianshavn and is loved by many, but has been a turning point for a strong debate, especially because of the locals relaxed view on hash and some unfortunate violent incidents.
