The amusement park is located on the Tibidabo Mountain, the highest point of Barcelona. The park is enjoyable not only for children but for anyone who is a child at heart. The Marionetàrium puppet centre and the Krüeger Horror Hotel are just some of the attractions at the park. 

Barcelona Zoo was founded in 1829 and is one of Spain’s leading zoos. The zoo also lets you get close to barnyard animals and pets. Among the main attractions are the primate house, the terrarium and the dolphinarium.

La Sagrada Familia is one of the greatest symbols of Barcelona. In 1883, Gaudí undertook the task of constructing the basilica, which was begun in 1882 by Francisco de Paula del Villar y Lozano, and continued until his death. This basilica is Gaudí’s most famous work and a symbol of his ingenuity. The work to complete the construction still continues. 

The cathedral is a symbol of Barcelona. Construction began in 1298 in the Romanesque style although it was completed in the Catalan Gothic style. There are excellent views over the city from the dome.

Camp Nou is the largest football stadium in Europe and the world’s second largest in terms of capacity. It has been the home of FC Barcelona since 1957. You can visit the football pitch, the club store, the dressing rooms for visiting teams, and the FC Barcelona museum.

Güell Park was conceived as a suburban residential area located high above Barcelona with views of the city and the sea. Gaudí planned to build 60 houses here but only two were completed. One of these is now the Gaudí House Museum and the other is the Casa Trias. The park is listed as UNESCO World Heritage and reflects Gaudí’s artistic ingenuity.

This district was created in 1753 for sailors and fishermen. It has 5 kilometres of beach, reaching along the promenade up to the Port Olímpic. Seafood restaurants are available.

The gastronomy in Barcelona is inspired by Catalan cuisine. Visitors flock to Barcelona’s tapas bars. But don’t forget to try the traditional dishes, such as botifarra amb mongetes (white beans with Catalan pork sausage), escudella i carn d'olla (hearty casseroles), and the famous pa amb tomàquet (country bread with tomato and olive oil). Don’t miss the delicious dessert crema catalana.

There are many unique and original restaurants in Barcelona headed by great chefs, allowing you to taste and enjoy modern Mediterranean cuisine, not least in the neighbourhoods of Exaimple, Gràcia, Saint Gervasi and Ciutat Vella.

Barcelona is famous for its amazing nightlife. Clubs, discos, bars and restaurants and live music venues are situated in the most touristic areas. During the summer there are also rooftop bars and beach bars.

The best areas offering great atmosphere are Diagonal, Barrio de Gràcia, the Poble Nou and terraces of Port Vell and Port Olímpic.

The best shopping areas in Barcelona are Centro, Eixample and Diagonal. If you are looking for souvenirs then pay a visit to La Rambla. Here you can find all types of gifts and souvenirs. The best place for Barcelona’s traditional gastronomic products is the Boquería Market. You can find the latest fashion at the designer stores on the Paseo de Gracia Boulevard or in the El Born area.

If you are travelling with children then visit the shopping centres in the Plaza de Cataluña and along the Avenue Diagonal, the Gran Vía de les Corts Catalanes, Port Vell, or around the Paseo de Gracia. Here you can shop in peace while the young ones have fun in the multiplex cinemas, amusement arcades and playgrounds.

Barcelona is an ideal place for conferences, trade fairs and symposiums thanks to the city’s extraordinary infrastructure and excellent climate. Many visitors travel to Barcelona for international conferences and exhibitions.
